• To display property listings to House Hunters looking for accommodation.

• To enable House Hunters to contact Landlords directly regarding verified properties.

• To detect, prevent, and block fraudulent users or fake listings when a user presses the "Report Fraud" button.

3. Communication, Proposals, and Marketing (Free & Open-Source Policy)

Because HAOSASA operates as a completely free and open-source platform, we rely on email communication to sustain, manage, and improve our ecosystem. By registering an account or listing a property on HAOSASA, you explicitly consent to the following:

• Administrative Alerts: We will use your email address to send automated platform notifications, such as listing expiration alerts or policy updates.

• Service Proposals: We may contact you via email with specialized service proposals designed to optimize your experience on our open-source framework.

• Marketing & Reminders: You may receive regular marketing communications, property availability reminders, and promotional updates from us to keep your listings active and competitive.

• Opt-Out Right: Users maintain the right to unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by following the instructions at the bottom of our emails or contacting haosasakenya@gmail.com.

4. Data Storage and Retention

• Storage: Your listing details and images are processed securely via our connected cloud infrastructure (including Google Drive and Google Sheets backend frameworks).

• Retention (The 2-Week Policy): In line with our Terms and Conditions, active property listings are automatically erased from our active databases after two (2) weeks unless an extension is granted via prior communication.

• Account Deletion: Users have the right to request the permanent deletion of their account information at any time by contacting us directly.

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

• Public Visibility: Any information Landlords input into a listing (such as phone numbers, property photos, prices, and locations) will be visible to all users browsing the HAOSASA platform.

• No Selling of Data: HAOSASA does not sell, rent, or trade your personal private information to third-party advertising companies for profit.

• Legal Disclosures: We may disclose user information if required to do so by law enforcement under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, or to protect the safety of our users against active fraud.
